1955 Topps Complete PSA-Graded Set (206)

Starting Bid - $2,500.00 , Sold For - $9,987.50

Presented is an extraordinary high-grade complete set of 1955 Topps cards. All 206 cards have been encapsulated and graded by PSA. Included are fifty-three NM 7s, 119 EX-MT 6s, and thirty-four EX 5s. This set is registered on the “PSA set registry” with an average grade of 6.04. The 1955 Topps set has always been one of the most popular sets of the 1950s. Issued in the heart of the decade, the 1955 Topps set includes everyone from Aaron to Williams, and features the rookie cards of Sandy Koufax and Roberto Clemente, all in brilliant, stunning color, and in an exciting then brand new horizontal design. As any collector of high-grade early 1950s cards knows, assembling a complete set of any 1950s vintage issue is a daunting challenge, and this is even more true of 1955 Topps. The assembly of a set of this high quality and consistency is the result of a tremendous amount of time, effort, and patience. This is a spectacular set and an extraordinary collecting achievement. The PSA grades are as follows: Fifty-three NM 7: #4 Kaline, 12, 22 Skowron, 27, 35, 38, 43, 45, 47 Aaron, 48, 60, 71, 73, 76, 79, 82, 86, 87, 91, 97, 98, 99, 102, 103, 105, 107, 110, 113, 116, 117, 119, 122, 123 Koufax RC, 126, 128, 130, 131, 136, 137, 138, 140, 142, 148, 149, 150, 154, 164 Clemente RC, 165, 169, 172, 185, 187 Hodges, and 197. 118 EX-MT 6: including #1 Rhodes, 2 Williams, 28 Banks, 31 Spahn, 50 Robinson, 100 Irvin, 120 Kluszewski, 124 Killebrew RC, 125 Boyer, 155 Mathews, 189 Rizzuto, 194 Mays, 198 Berra, and 210 Snider. Thirty-five EX 5: #7, 8, 10, 11, 17, 20, 29, 30, 34, 39, 61, 70, 80, 92 Zimmer RC, 93, 106, 118, 139, 141, 144, 152 Agganis RC, 167, 168, 179, 190, 191, 192, 193, 196, 200, 201, 202, 204, 205, and 208. This set was assembled one card at a time by a very dedicated condition-conscious collector over a period of many years, with a concern for all factors, but with a special consideration to overall eye appeal. This is an extremely attractive high-grade complete set of this classic early Topps issue, entirely graded by PSA. The total SMR value for the individual cards exceeds $10,000. Total 206 cards. Reserve $2,500. Estimate $5,000++. SOLD FOR $9,987.50
