1955 Topps Complete Set (206)

Starting Bid - $500.00 , Sold For - $1,997.50

60% range from Vg-Ex to Ex, and 40% Vg and lesser grades (mostly Vg). This is a very attractive, clean, and bright technically mid-grade complete set of the classic 1955 Topps issue. Highlighted by the rookie cards of Sandy Koufax and Roberto Clemente, the 1955 Topps also includes many additional key star cards, including Ted Williams and Willie Mays. We have selected three cards to be graded by PSA. Keys: #1 Rhodes (Vg-Ex), 2 Williams (Vg), 4 Kaline (Vg-Ex), 28 Banks (Vg), 31 Spahn (Vg), 47 Aaron (Vg), 50 Robinson (PSA VG-EX 4), 100 Irvin (Vg-Ex), 120 Kluszewski (Ex), 123 Koufax RC (PSA GOOD 2), 124 Killebrew RC (PSA VG-EX 4), 125 Boyer RC (Vg-Ex), 152 Agganis RC (miscut along the bottom, otherwise Vg), 155 Mathews (90/10 T/B, otherwise Ex), 164 Clemente (10/90 L/R, otherwise Vg), 187 Hodges (miscut along the left border, otherwise Ex), 189 Rizzuto (Vg), 194 Mays (Vg), 198 Berra (Vg-Ex), and 210 Snider (Vg). If this set was shown to your noncollecting neighbors, they would probably be marveling at the strong condition and how brand-new it looks. But in the high-grade obsessed card world, this is technically just an average mid-grade set. The entire set might actually sell for less than a single Mint common card! This is great for true collectors and is still amazing to us. Affordable, attractive mid-grade sets of classic issues from the 1950s such as this always generate tremendous collector interest. Total 206 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $1,997.50
