1954 Topps Complete Set (250)

Starting Bid - $1,000.00 , Sold For - $6,462.50

80% range from Ex to Ex-Mt (includes some Nr/Mt), 20% Vg-Ex to Vg-Ex/Ex. This set is highlighted by a magnificent example of Hank Aaron's rookie card graded NM7 by PSA. We have selected the Aaron rookie and three additional key cards to be graded and encapsulated by PSA. Keys: #1 Williams (PSA NM 7), 10 Robinson (Ex), 13 Martin (Ex-Mt), 17 Rizzuto (Ex), 20 Spahn (Ex-Mt), 30 Mathews (Ex-Mt), 32 Snider (Ex), 36 Wilhelm (70/30 L/R, otherwise Ex), 37 Ford (30/70 L/R, otherwise Ex-Mt), 45 Ashburn (Ex-Mt), 50 Berra (tape stain on back, otherwise Ex-Mt), 70 Doby (30/70 L/R, otherwise Ex), 90 Mays (slight trim along the top border, otherwise Nr/Mt), 94 Banks RC (slight miscut along the top border, otherwise Nr/Mt), 102 Hodges (Ex), 128 Aaron (PSA NM 7), 132 Lasorda RC (70/30 L/R, otherwise Nr/Mt), 201 Kaline (PSA VG-EX 4), 239 Skowron RC (Ex-Mt), and 250 Williams (PSA VG-EX 4). This is an extremely consistent and surprisingly high grade complete set of this early 1950s classic, far better than we usually see, with tremendous eye appeal throughout. The set technically ranges from medium to high grade, but has an overall presentation of a technically much more expensive and higher-grade set. This set was saved by an old-time collector and has not seen the light of day in about fifteen or twenty years. Early sets in this grade are especially desirable, representing the most solid and least volatile value in the world of vintage cards. Total 250 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$3,000. SOLD FOR $6,462.50
