1950 Hage’s Dairy PCL Collection (11)

Starting Bid - $200.00 , Sold For - $1,292.50

Collection of eleven rare regional cards from the 1950 Hage’s Dairy PCL series. Hage’s Dairy, based in California, began a three year run of regional baseball cards featuring Pacific Coast League players in 1949. Though produced by Hage's Dairy, these cards were actually distributed inside popcorn boxes at the concession stand in Lane Field Park, home of the PCL San Diego Padres. Printed on thin stock, the cards measure 2-5/8 x 3-1/8 inches with advertisements for Hage’s Milk, Ice Cream, or Ice Cream Bars on the backs. Many players were issued with more than one pose. Hage's are one of the all-time legendary and rare PCL regional issues and over the years we can count on one hand the number of times we have had even a small group to offer. The collection is comprised of the following: Adams/batting (Vg-Ex), Embree/pitching (Vg-Ex), E. Fletcher (Gd), G. Fletcher (Ex), Graham/batting swing (Pr), Luby/pose (Gd), Maddern (Ex), Nielsen/batting (Gd), Storey/batting stance (Gd), West/pose (Vg), and Wietelman/batting stance (Fr). A very presentable group of this scarce regional PCL issue from the early 1950s, with even the lowest-graded cards having great eye-appeal. Total 11 cards. Reserve $200. Estimate $400+. SOLD FOR $1,292.50
