1888 N28 Allen & Ginter Cap Anson
Starting Bid - $800.00 , Sold For - $3,231.25
Graded EX+ 70 by SGC. Outstanding high-grade example of Cap Anson, the key card from the N28 Allen & Ginter World’s Champions series. This is an exceptional card of the era's most prominent Hall of Famer from one of the nineteenth century's most popular sets. The card is bright and crisp, with four square corners, rich colors, and perfect registration. The reverse is also bright and clean. This is a very strong example of one of the most classic of all nineteenth-century baseball cards. Disclosure Notice: This card has been consigned to this auction from the personal collection of SGC principle David Forman. Mr. Forman purchased this card in the open market at public auction, already graded, just as is the case with all five SGC-graded cards Mr. Forman is selling from his personal collection in this auction. This disclosure is being made at his insistence (and with our blessing) to avoid even the potential appearance of impropriety. In addition to SGC's lifetime written guarantees, which apply to all SGC graded cards, REA will allow the winner of any or all of the cards from Mr. Forman's personal collection a six-month full return privilege for any reason if desired. Reserve $800. Estimate $1,500/$2,500. SOLD FOR $3,231.25
