1913 T200 Fatima Team Graded Collection (6)
Starting Bid - $200.00 , Sold For - $822.50
Issued by Fatima Cigarettes in 1913 the T200 team card set is one of the most unusual and distinctive of all tobacco cards. This lot includes five of the sixteen team cards issued in the set plus one duplicate. Each card has been graded, two by PSA and four by SGC. As is always the case with T200 Fatimas, these cards are graded very harshly and look far better than their assigned grades. Condition report: Brooklyn Nats (PSA PR-FR 1), two Cincinnati Nats (SGC GOOD 30 and PSA PR-FR 1), Philadelphia Nats (SGC POOR 10), Boston Amer. with Tris Speaker and Harry Hooper (SGC POOR 10), and Chicago Amer. (SGC POOR 10). Collectors are usually somewhat forgiving regarding condition when dealing with Fatimas because the fragile surface of these unusual real-photo team cards makes them especially susceptible to creasing. T200 Fatimas is a set which is not practical to collect in Mint condition. In fact, no T200 Fatima has ever been graded Mint by PSA, and 75% of all graded examples have been between Poor and Vg-Ex, with almost others Ex (fewer than one-half of one-percent in higher grades, including just one Nr/Mt-Mt). This set is also just beginning to be appreciated for its combination of rarity, unusual design, photographic quality, and the exceptional value it represents compared to other more common tobacco-card issues of the era. Total 6 cards. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$600+. SOLD FOR $822.50
