Circa 1910 T201, T202, T205, T206 Tobacco Card-Collection (132 cards, 24 HOFers!)

Impressive collection of 129 1910-era tobacco cards includes twenty-three T201 Mecca Double-Folders, two T202 Hassan Triple-Folders, fourteen T205 "Gold Borders," and ninety T206 "White Borders," plus an additional three 1910-era caramel cards for a total of 132 cards. This is an original-owner collection that has not seen the light of day in over fifty years. This collection is loaded with highlights. Included are twenty-four Hall of Famers (among them Cobb, Mathewson, Johnson, and Young), a few unusual T206 backs, as well as many other high-demand cards. 1) T201 Mecca Double-Folders (23 cards): Four cards are Vg-Ex; seven cards are Vg including Bender/Oldring and Clarke/Byrne; twelve cards range from Fr to Gd including two Evers/Chance, Speaker/Gardner, and two Wheat/Bergen. 2) T202 Hassan Triple Folders (2 cards): #15 Bresnahan/Harmon (HOF, Pr-Fr) and 24 Egan/Mitchell (Gd). Numbers reference Standard Catalog checklist. 3) T205 Gold Borders (14 cards): Three cards are Vg, including Dunn (minor leaguer); two cards are Gd-Vg, including Mathewson; nine cards are Pr-Fr, including Dunn (minor leaguer) and Merritt (minor leaguer). 4) T206 White Borders (90 cards): Eleven cards are Vg, including Cicotte (Black Sox); thirteen cards are Gd, including Chance (yellow) and a common (Schlei, NY) with a Lenox back; seven cards are Fr-Gd, including Chance (yellow) and Willis (portrait); fifty-nine cards are Pr-Fr, including Baker, Bender (portrait), Brown (Cubs), Chance (yellow, Carolina Brights back), Chase (pink, Sovereign back), Clarke (bat), Cobb (red), Collins (Phil., Carolina Brights back), Johnson (portrait), McGraw (finger), McGraw (portrait, no cap), Walsh, and Young (bare hand). The backs are almost all Sweet Caporal but also included are one Lenox, a few Carolina Brights, Cycle, Sovereign, Tolstoi, and Polar Bear. In addition, also included are three caramel cards from the 1910-era: two E96 Philadelphia Caramel (Mathewson and Morgan, both grade Pr-Fr) and one E91 American Caramel (Seymour, Pr). This is a very substantial mid-grade original-owner collection of tobacco cards from four of the era's most popular and classic sets, and with an extraordinarily high concentration of Hall of Famers and high-demand cards.
