1909 E92 Croft's Candy Collection (8)
Starting Bid - $500.00 , Sold For - $1,880.00
Collection of eight different E92 Croft’s Candy cards highlighted by Hall of Famers Eddie Collins and Hughie Jennings. Cards from this rare caramel issue from 1909 share the same designs as several other related candy issues (Dockman Gum, Nadja Caramels, etc.) from the same era. Each card has been graded and encapsulated by SGC: Casey (VG 40; rounded corners, no creases, and blue back), Collins (Authentic; very slight trim along the oversized top border, blue back), Doyle/bat (FAIR 20; centered 100/0 with no right border, and with surface paper loss the size of a dime on the back), Jennings (VG 40; bright and crisp with a striking orange background, no creases, corner wear, and a tiny chip of paper loss on the back), Murphy (VG 40; centered 95/5 left to right, no creases), O’Hara (VG 40; striking image set against a bold red background, centered 75/25 L/R), Schaefer (VG 40; very attractive horizontal pose with brilliant colors, looks Vg-Ex but downgraded due to VG due to a small stain on the back), and Zimmerman (Authentic; slight subtle trim, still a very striking card). A very attractive and consistently graded group of these scarce caramel cards. Total 8 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $1,880.00
