1884 Lawson's Base Ball Game Playing Card Set - All GAI Graded

Issued in 1884 by the Lawson Card Company of Boston, Massachusetts, the Lawson's playing card-set features thirty-six cards with extremely striking baseball-related designs. The backs feature a very attractive baseball scene in blue and white. Offered is a complete 36-card standard edition Lawson's set in Near Mint or better condition, entirely graded by GAI. Two cards are graded Gem Mint 9.5, three are Mint 9, four are NM-MT+ 8.5, fourteen NM-MT 8, six are NM+ 7.5, five are NM 7, one is EX-MT+ 6.5, and one is EX-MT 6. The set is accompanied by the original 20-page instruction booklet (VG 3) explaining the rules of the game, which features a black-and-white woodcut of a batter on the cover. Also included are the original box (GAI G-VG 2.5) and the "Value of Cards" card (GAI G-VG 2.5). All the cards are bright, crisp, and clean, having been beautifully preserved in their original box over the years.
