1909-1911 T206 White Borders Collection Including Uzit and Lenox Backs (23)
Starting Bid - $500.00 , Sold For - $3,818.75
Unusual collection of twenty-three T206 White Border cards, including three Hall of Famers and highlighted by several cards with scarce or rare backs, including one rare “Uzit,” one “Lenox,” and two "Carolina Brights" advertisement backs. We have selected seven cards to be graded by SGC. The collection consists of the following: Beaumont (SGC EX+ 70), Mordecai Brown/port. (El Principe De Gales, paper remnant on back, otherwise Vg-Ex/Ex), Dubuc (Carolina Brights back, SGC VG 40), Hoffman/Providence (Carolina Brights back, SGC GOOD 30), Schlei/port. (Lenox back, SGC VG/EX 50), Willetts (Tolstoi back, ink notation on back, otherwise Vg-Ex), and Wiltse/pitching (Uzit back, SGC VG/EX 50). The remaining sixteen cards each have an appearance ranging from Vg-Ex to Ex but each has a very slight trim: Alperman, Bescher/hands in air, Delehanty/Wash., Doyle/port. (Cycle back), Johnny Evers/Chicago (SGC Auth, strong Ex appearance), Flanagan, Leach/bending over, Manning/pitching, John McGraw/glove on hip (SGC Auth, strong Ex appearance), Meyers, Pickering, Pfeister/throwing (American Beauty back), two Jordan/Bklyn bat, Unglaub, Wilhelm/hands at chest. This is an unusual small group of T206s. Although sixteen of the twenty-three cards have a slight trim, even those cards have merit, and the key back rarities are strong numerically graded cards. Interesting T206 group including rare “Uzit,” “Lenox,” and “Carolina Brights” advertisement backs samples. Total 23 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $3,818.75
