1933 to 1959 Non-Sport "Old West" Theme Complete Set Collection (5 sets)

Selection of five particularly high quality complete non-sport sets, issued between 1933 and 1959, all capturing the spirit of the "Old West." The popularity of Westerns in movies and television, as well as interest in the true history of the American West and Native American Indians, have inspired many different interesting card sets. 1) 1933 Philadelphia Gum, Inc. "Wild West Series" complete set (73 cards total: set of 49 plus 24 back variations): 60% range from Vg-Ex to Ex, and 40% Vg (with a few slightly lesser). Complete set of 49 puzzle-backs plus an extra complete second-series set of 24 cards (#26-49) without the puzzle design on backs (Vg condition overall). 2) 1940 “Indian Chiefs” Type 2 - Sepia Photos complete set (24): 90% Ex to Ex-Mt, 10% slightly lesser. Great-looking rare set featuring Indian Chief portraits in outstanding condition. 3) 1951 Wm. Boyd Post Cereal "Hopalong Cassidy Wild West Trading Cards" complete set (36, plus two ad cards): 45% Ex to Ex-Mt (with a few Nr/Mt), 55% Vg to Vg-Ex. 4) 1956 Topps “Round-Up” complete set (80): 85% Vg-Ex to Ex, 15% in lesser grades mostly Vg. 5) 1959 Fleer “Indian Trading Cards” complete set (80): 90% Nr/Mt, 10% lesser. These are the personal sets assembled over a twenty-year span by a longtime advanced collector. Total 295 cards representing five complete sets (including 26 additional related cards). Reserve $300.
