1903 E107 Breisch-Williams Joe Yeager
Starting Bid - $500.00 , Sold For - $1,410.00
Graded FAIR 20 by SGC. E107 Breisch-Williams of third baseman Joe Yeager from the Detroit Tigers of the American League. Joe Yeager is credited by many with originating the squeeze play. Starting out as a pitcher, Yeager went 12-22 for Brooklyn in his first season and was used sparingly the next two years as a pitcher and a shortstop. He then jumped to the new American League. The Tigers made him their regular third baseman in 1903; he hit .256 and fielded adequately, ending his pitching career. His Major League career spanned the years from 1898 to 1908. Very attractive card which appears much stronger than its technically accurate assigned grade. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,410.00
