1954-1960 Stan Musial Signed Pro Model Bat

Starting Bid - $1,000.00 , Sold For - $4,700.00

H&B block-letter ("Musial-Model") "M159" bat, signed in black marker by Stan Musial. The bat displays heavy use along its entire length, including ball marks, deeply embedded stitch marks, and cleat marks on the barrel. The handle displays light pine tar residue as well as a multiple four-inch crack. A very tiny "dent" is visible along the back of the barrel. Musial's uniform number ("6") was once written on the knob in black marker but is now very faded and barely discernible. Musial has inscribed the bat, "Stan Musial #6," in black marker (grading "10") on the "sweet spot" of the barrel. H&B shipping records indicate numerous shipments of M159 model bats to Musial between the years 1953 and 1960. However, the first shipment of 33-ounce M159 model bats occurred on February 2, 1954. Length: 34.75 inches. Weight: 33.7 ounces. Graded A8 by MEARS (base grade of 5, with 3 points added for use). LOAs from Dave Bushing & Troy Kinunen/MEARS and James Spence/JSA. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$4,000. SOLD FOR $4,700.00
