The jersey is graded A10 by MEARS (pants are not graded by the company). The gray flannel vest-style jersey features the club's "Smiling Indian" patch on the left breast. The number "7" is displayed on both the right breast and reverse. "Crandall" is lettered on the reverse above the number. All letters and numerals have been appliquéd in red tackle twill. A "MacGregor 44" label appears in the collar. Situated on the interior left front tail are another MacGregor label, reading "Set 2 1966," and a laundry tag. Located in the waistband of the matching gray flannel pants are a "MacGregor 38" label, a MacGregor label reading "Set 2 1966," and a laundry tag. The uniform number, size, and inseam measurement ("7 37 26") are chain-stitched in blue upon a white strip tag affixed to the rear of the pants, just below the waistband. Accompanying the jersey and pants are two pairs of stirrup socks (one blue with red and white stripes, the other red with blue and white stripes) and a red belt. Both the jersey and pants are original and unaltered, and display moderate-to-heavy wear. Del Crandall was one of the top defensive catchers of his era and a key member of the 1957 World Champion Milwaukee Braves. 1966 was his final season in the Majors. He appeared in fifty games with Cleveland, finishing the year with 4 home runs, 8 RBI, and a .231 batting average. This vest-style jersey was only employed by Cleveland for the seven-year period 1963-1969. Graded A10 by MEARS. This is both the only Del Crandall and the only 1966 Cleveland Indians Jersey listed in the MEARS population report. This complete uniform has been consigned to this auction directly from the personal collection/inventory of world-renowned bat and jersey authenticator David Bushing.
