1903 E107 Breisch-Williams Sammy Strang

Starting Bid - $500.00 , Sold For - $1,880.00

Graded VG 40 by SGC. Very attractive sample card of third baseman Sammy Strang from the Brooklyn Superbas of the National League. It is interesting to note Strang is pictured on the card wearing a White Sox uniform even though on the card he is identified with Brooklyn. Strang played 135 games with the White Sox in 1902 before being traded to Chicago of the National League for three games in 1902, and then later shipped off to Brooklyn for the 1903 season. Perfectly centered, with a sharp portrait image, a very light crease at the bottom, and a clean back. This is a very attractive example of one of the many particularly interesting cards from this important set. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,880.00
