1960s Signed "Spalding Consultant" Die-Cut Advertising Displays (3)

Starting Bid - $100.00 , Sold For - $293.75

Collection of three different 1960s Spalding die-cut retail advertising display pieces, each signed in blue Sharpie (grading “10”) by the respective player pictured. Two of the displays (each approximately 6 x 7 inches) are identical in design and feature large portrait images of Don Drysdale and Whitey Ford, respectively. Each of the two displays also features the player’s name and notes his role as “Spalding Consultant.” The third display (9 inches in length) is designed in the shape of a semicircle and features a small portrait image of Don Drysdale. Drysdale is identified by name to the right of his image, below which the piece boasts “Spalding Sets The Pace In Sports.” We've seen a few of these in the past but are uncertain exactly how they were displayed. Designed with tabs and folding parts, these store display pieces appear to possibly be part of a larger display requiring assembly, though these diecut card-like pieces are clearly separate and complete sections unto themselves. The Ford display has a tiny crease along the top left corner; otherwise all three are in Near Mint to Mint condition. Total 3 Spalding advertising pieces. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $100. Estimate $200/$400. SOLD FOR $293.75
