1941-1956 Brooklyn Dodgers World Series Press Pin Collection (7)

Starting Bid - $800.00 , Sold For - $2,350.00

Addendum: It has been pointed out to us by several collectors that the 1941 Brooklyn Dodgers press pin in this lot has a blue-on-the-top and red-on-the-bottom design, while the examples of the collectors inquiring are designed with red-on-the-top, and blue-on-the-bottom. Other examples we have checked that we have sold in the past have also had the red-on-the-top, blue-on-the-bottom design. Whether this is an extremely rare variation or a unique design sample is unknown at this time, but it is a very interesting variation, about which we were previously unaware, and which was not noticed prior to going to press with the printed catalog.

Complete collection of all seven post-1920 Brooklyn Dodgers World Series press pins: 1941, 1947, 1949, 1952, 1953, 1955, and 1956. Many of the World Series press pins associated with the Brooklyn Dodgers are recognized as classics among press pins, and are also sought after by general collectors as representing the glory days of the great Brooklyn Dodgers. The 1956 pin in particular, which features a clasp back, has always been regarded as one of the premier World Series press pin of the 1950s. All of the pins are in Near Mint condition with the exception of 1941 (Ex, a few tiny nicks on the white enamel) and 1953 (Ex, minor surface wear). All of the pins have been manufactured by Dieges & Clust and feature threaded-post backs, with the exception of 1956 (which has a traditional clasp back as issued). Total: 7 pins. Reserve $800. Estimate $1,500/$2,500. SOLD FOR $2,350.00
