1913 New York Giants World Series Press Pin
Starting Bid - $500.00 , Sold For - $7,050.00
New York Giants press pin issued for the 1913 World Series against the Philadelphia Athletics. All pre-1920 World Series press pins are extremely rare and this example is no exception. The circular pin displays a scalloped edge and is lettered "World Series — Giants'." Featured in the center of the pine is the raised image of a catcher's mask above a crossed bats-and-ball motif, along with the year, "1913." Threaded-post back. Manufactured by Whitehead & Hoag. Diameter: 1.25 inches. This is a spectacular high-grade example of this early press pin rarity, with perfect enamel and with only the slightest hints of light wear visible along the border. This pin is really just about as good as it gets, especially for such an early example. This is the first 1913 Giants press pin we have had since 1997. Excellent to Mint. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $7,050.00
