Starting Bid - $1,000.00 , Sold For - $4,112.50
Spectacular high-grade collection of eight 1898 Cameo Pepsin Gum pins, each in Near Mint to Mint condition, with outstanding contrast, with players from four different teams: Bierbauer, 2B. (Pittsburg), Breitenstein, P. (Cincinnati), Ganzel (Boston), Hart, Mgr. (Chicago), Hastings (Pittsburg), Holliday, Sub. (Cincinnati), Irwin, 3B. (Cincinnati), and Long (Boston). This group of eight pins is part of an exciting new find of thirty-four Cameo Pepsin Gum pins which was recently discovered in a New Jersey family estate. These eight were arguably the very best non-Hall of Famer pins in the collection. Because of their extraordinary condition and perfect contrast, we chose to highlight them in a single lot. All eight are in solid Near Mint to Mint condition with flawless original back papers intact. Cameo Pepsin Gum pins are one of the rarest and most significant of all baseball pinbacks. This is an exceptional group of eight ultra high-grade examples. Total 8 pins. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$3,000. SOLD FOR $4,112.50
