1996 New York Yankees World Series Ring
Starting Bid - $4,000.00 , Sold For - $12,925.00
This 1996 New York Yankees World Series ring, produced by Balfour, was originally presented to one of the club’s top scouts in the Dominican Republic. The 10K gold ring features twenty-three small diamonds set with the team’s familiar “NY” logo, which in turn rests upon a blue stone. “World Champions 1996” appears along the perimeter in relief. The right shank features the recipient’s name, “Quinones,” a depiction of the World Series trophy, and two engraved banners reading “Courage” and “Heart,” respectively. The left shank features a design comprised of the Yankee Stadium façade, the team’s logo, and an engraved banner that reads “Tradition.” The weight of the gold, “10K,” and the manufacturer’s initials, “LGB,” are each engraved along the interior band. 1996 marked the start of another legendary Yankees dynasty, as the team went on to win four World Championships in five years. New York Yankees World Series rings from the 1990s are very rarely seen on the open market and this is the first we have ever offered. Most modern-era World Series rings are forever prized as special family keepsakes by extremely well paid players who have no economic incentive to ever part with them. The offering of an executive or top scout ring such as this example is a very rare exception. This is an extraordinary original 1996 Yankees World Series ring, the first example we have ever offered, from the club’s first 1990s World Championship. Size: approximately 9.25. Near Mint condition. The original wood presentation case accompanies. Reserve $4,000. Estimate $8,000+. SOLD FOR $12,925.00
