1920 Brooklyn Dodgers World Series Program
Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $1,880.00
Extremely scarce 1920 World Series program issued for the games at Brooklyn’s Ebbets Field. The program, which features Brooklyn manager Wilbert Robinson on the cover, is also one of the most impressive for display of all early World Series programs. The interior pages include team photos of the Brooklyn Dodgers and Cleveland Indians, as well as individual photos of team and League officials. The interior scorecard section of the program bears a few stray ink notations but is not scored for any particular game. Wilbert Robinson's name is scripted on the front cover in pencil; however, it is not in Robinson’s hand. Another name (“E. B. Hope”) is also scripted very lightly in pencil on the cover. The twelve-page program (9.25 x 11 inches) displays a light vertical fold and minor foxing on the front cover. A few minor creases are noticeable in the corner areas. The pages are all very flat, clean, and bright. In Very Good condition overall. From the Barry Halper Collection. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $1,880.00
