Circa 1915 Tris Speaker Mini Decal Bat

Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $1,645.00

This circa 1915 H&B Louisville Slugger 27 mini decal bat features a colorful portrait of Tris Speaker on the barrel as well as the "Louisville Slugger" brand name and Speaker's facsimile signature. It is very rare to find any early portrait decal bat in such high grade. They are extremely condition-sensitive. Most surviving examples display wear and numerous chips or flaking to the painted label. This bat is extraordinary in that it remains in a near pristine state. It is one of the finest vintage mini decal bats we have ever seen. The entire label retains approximately ninety-eight percent of its original paint and the portrait of Speaker, save for two minute specks, is flawless. Overall, the decal grades "9+" (on a scale of "1" to "10") and the bat (17.5 inches in length) is in Excellent to Mint condition. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$800. SOLD FOR $1,645.00
