1907 Boston Red Sox Opening Day Invitation With Guest Pass and Original Envelope (Murnane)

Formal invitation to the Boston Red Sox Opening Day game of 1907, issued to former player, baseball executive, and sportswriter Timothy Murnane, complete with guest pass and original mailing envelope. The beautifully designed invitation (7.75 x 9.75 inches) to the club's home opener on April 16, 1907 is highlighted by the colorful embossed logo displayed along the top. The logo features the team name "Boston Americans" printed along a banner, above which is displayed a baseball motif flanked by two American flags and a bald eagle. The text, printed in grand calligraphic style, reads "The Boston American League Base Ball Club requests the honor of your presence at The Opening Game of the Season Tuesday afternoon April 16th 1907 at three o'clock Huntington Avenue Ball Grounds Boston." The fold-over invitation (blank interior) displays two tiny edge tears along both the top and left border, respectively, and is otherwise in Excellent to Mint condition. Included with the invitation is the accompanying full guest pass and the original mailing envelope. The guest pass (5 x 2.25 inches) reads "Present this card for admission to grandstand" and includes its non-detached "Guest" stub." Ex-Mt, with some minor soiling along the stub portion of the pass. The mailing envelope (10 x 8 inches) is hand addressed to "Mr. T. H. Murnane" and postmarked "Apr 10 1907." VG, with a number of minor tears and soiling.
