1932 New York Yankees World Champions Team-Signed Baseball

Starting Bid - $1,000.00, Sold For - $7,050.00

Official American League (Harridge) ball signed in black ink by twenty-three members of the 1932 World Champion New York Yankees. Babe Ruth’s signature sits along its customary place of honor upon the sweet spot (grading “7”), while Gehrig’s occupies the North panel (grading “6”). The remaining signatures on the ball are those of Combs, Pennock, Ruffing, Dickey, Sewell, Lazzeri, Gomez, Hoag, Crosetti, Perkins (coach), Byrd, Moore, Wells, Jorgens, MacFayden, Pipgras, Allen, Farrell, Lary, Brown, and Chapman. 1932 marked Babe Ruth’s final World Championship with the Yankees and he went out in grand style. The Yankees swept the Chicago Cubs in the 1932 “fall classic,” a series that was highlighted by Ruth’s legendary “Called Shot” in Game 3 at Chicago. Signatures range in grade from “4” to “8,” averaging “6.” All of the manufacturer’s stampings remain bold and distinct. The ball is slightly soiled and has been coated with a light, uneven layer of protective shellac. This is an exceptionally attractive ball, ideal for display. In Very Good to Excellent condition. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$4,000. SOLD FOR $7,050.00
