Nineteenth-Century Graded Card Collection (5)

Starting Bid - $100.00, Sold For - $1,175.00

Collection of five nineteenth-century cards from four different sets, all graded by PSA (unless otherwise noted): 1) 1887 N172 Old Judge: Jack Glasscock, Indianapolis (VG-EX 4 [MK], nice card qualified for ink stamp and pencil marks on reverse). 2) 1888 N28 Allen & Ginter: Tim Keefe (GAI Fair 1.5, Vg-Ex card from the front with paper loss on the reverse). 3) 1889 N29 Allen & Ginter: James Ryan (VG 3; bright and crisp, with corner wear and a few light creases in the background area surrounding the image). 4-5) 1889 N43 Allen & Ginter: Jas. Fogarty and Charles Getzin (Both cards have been encapsulated as "Authentic" by PSA due to the slightly irregular cut on all four sides, interpreted as a sign of trimming by PSA. Each card also appears very thin and has a blank back, which suggests to us that these may have been hand cut from a completely unknown advertising poster for the N43 set). A small but interesting and relatively affordable sampling of classic pre-1900 cards. Total 5 cards. Reserve $100. Estimate $200/$400+. SOLD FOR $1,175.00
