1981 and 1985 Topps Factory-Sealed Rack Cases (3)

Three unopened Topps rack cases from 1981 and 1985: 1) 1981 rack case containing three boxes with twenty-four packs per box for a total of seventy-two packs. With each pack containing fifty cards, the case represents a total of 3,600 cards. 2) Two 1985 rack cases. Each case contains six boxes with twenty-four packs per box for a total of 144 packs. With each pack containing fifty-one cards, each case represents a total of 7,344 cards. The two 1985 Topps rack cases together contain a total of 14,688 cards. The 1985 Topps set includes rookie cards of McGwire, Clemens, and Puckett, and key cards of Ripken and Ryan. While it is impossible to provide guarantees with reference to grading of unopened material, it would be hard to imagine that these three cases do not include a generous supply of Mint 9s and Gem Mint 10s of every player in the set, including McGwire and Clemens. The 2007 Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards book value for a 1981 Topps rack box is $115 and the book value for 1985 Topps rack box is $180. The three cases in this lot contain a total of 15 wax boxes with a total book value of $2,505. Original factory seals intact with typical outer box wear. Total 3 cases.
