Starting Bid - $5,000.00, Sold For - $15,275.00

Unbelievably high-grade complete eighty-card set of the landmark 1959 Fleer issue devoted to the career and life of Ted Williams. The complete set of all eighty cards has been graded in its entirety by PSA, including an astonishing seventy-eight cards graded MINT 9, including the rare #68 “Ted Signs” key card. Only card #1 and #80 (the first and last cards in the set) are graded less than MINT 9. Each of these two condition rarities grade NM-MT 8. This set is not yet recorded on the PSA Registry but is very close to being literally the finest set in the world. The #1 All-Time Finest set of 1959 Fleer Ted Willliams on the PSA Registry has an average grade of 9.23. The average grade of this set is 8.97. The assembly of this set is an extraordinary feat. If MINT 9 examples of card #1 and #80 could ever be found, this would be one of the few vintage sets of any issue ever assembled in PSA MINT 9 across the board. While it hardly seems necessary to state, this is by far the finest 1959 Fleer Ted Williams set we have ever seen or offered in thirty-six years. If you're waiting for a better set, you're in for a seriously long wait. This is a miracle set, one of the finest that could ever possibly be assembled in this universe, of one of the era's most interesting and unique sets. The SMR value in MINT 9 for the rare card #68 is $2,000. The SMR value in MINT 9 of most other cards is $225 (slightly higher for a several cards). The total SMR value for the eighty individual cards is $20,935. Total 80 cards. Reserve $5,000. Estimate $10,000+. SOLD FOR $15,275.00
