1933 R319 Goudey Babe Ruth PSA-Graded Collection (3)

Starting Bid - $1,000.00, Sold For - $4,993.75

Three of the four Babe Ruth cards in 1933 Goudey, #144, 149 and 181, all in extremely pleasing and conservatively graded PSA VG 3 condition. All three cards have even corner wear, vibrant colors, and are crease-free (with the exception of #144, which has a light horizontal surface crease). Tremendous color on all three make these cards dazzling for the grade, each projecting particularly strong images of the "Bambino." These cards are three-quarters of a matched set in this condition. If an equally strong PSA VG 3 example of card #53, with similar superb eye-appeal, can be added, a complete matched set of all four Ruth R319 cards will be in hand. Goudey Ruths that grade this modestly but look this sharp are particularly desirable to collectors, and with good reason, because of the outstanding value they represent. These three cards offer an exceptional opportunity for either the Ruth collector not interested in paying a large fortune for Near Mint (or better) cards but who still wants high-quality classic original 1930s bubble-gum cards of the Babe, or the Goudey set builder seeking to fill in these three big slots. Total 3 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$3,000. SOLD FOR $4,993.75
