1933 R338 Sport Kings Partial Set PSA-Graded (31 cards, 28 different of 48)
Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $2,643.75
Collection of twenty-eight of the forty-eight cards which comprise this classic multi-sport 1930s prewar gum issue, entirely graded and encapsulated by PSA (unless otherwise noted). Also included are three duplicates, for a total of thirty-one cards. The PSA condition report is as follows: Two EX 5: #5 Wachter (GAI EX 5) and 15. Nine VG-EX 4: #9, 10, 11, 20 Kahanamoku, 21 Weissmuller, 23, 25, 42 Hubbell, and 47. Four VG 3: #3 Holman, 12, 14, and 35 Rockne (MK). Six GOOD 2: #18 Tunney, 24 Morenz, 28 Doolittle (SGC GOOD 30), 30 Johnson, 36 Hoppe, and 41. Seven PR-FR 1: #1 Cobb, 7, 13, 19 Shore, 26, 33 Burke, and 37. The three duplicates are #3 Holman (SGC GOOD 30), 21 Weissmuller (SGC VG/EX 50), and 23 (SGC VG/EX 50). This is a very attractive mixed-grade partial set of one of the 1930s most popular issues, including many of the key cards in the set, with the lesser-graded cards having a far superior eye appeal than their technically accurate assigned grades would suggest. The twelve cards grading VG-EX or EX alone list in SMR for $1,045, and this total does not include the value of nineteen additional cards, including Rockne and Cobb. Total 31 cards (near-set of 28 different plus three duplicates). Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $2,643.75
