1915 T214 Victory Tobacco Zach Wheat
Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $2,937.50
Graded GOOD 2 by PSA. The 1915 T214 Victory set is an obscure series of tobacco cards, issued exclusively in the Louisiana area, which is sometimes mistaken for the T206 “White Border” set. Victory Tobacco is one of the few sets which features players from the Federal League, in addition to players from the Major Leagues. Offered is a rare sample card of Hall of Fame member Zach Wheat. This is an outstanding and particularly attractive example in all respects, and simply superior to what is normally found for Victory Tobacco. This card looks to us to be very worthy of consideration of a grade of Very Good condition. Victory Tobacco cards have a glossy coated surface which is very susceptible to creasing. This is a very attractive example, with a couple of extremely light surface creases, vibrant colors, and evenly rounded corners. The reverse is relatively clean and with bold crisp print, both ideal qualities for a sample of this scarce issue. It is rare to find any T214 Victory Tobacco in any grade, let alone an exceptionally strong and attractive example of a Hall of Famer. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $2,937.50
