1915 E145 Cracker Jack #23 Charles Comiskey PSA EX 5 - Looks MINT
Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $1,175.00
Graded PSA EX 5. Outstanding ultra high-grade Cracker Jack of Charles Comiskey. This card may be the best PSA EX 5 Cracker Jack in the universe. If you cover up the label and just look at the card, you'll think you are looking at a PSA NM-MT 8 or PSA MINT 9 card. This is a blazing factory-set example of one of the “Old Roman’s” most-sought after cards. We have looked long and hard at this gem. The red color of the background is deep and vibrant. The card is pristine, crisp, and perfectly fresh. There are no stains or blemishes of any kind. The printing registration is flawless. The centering is outstanding. The borders are bright and perfectly clean, as is the entire card, both front and back. All four corners are razor-sharp. We have been told by the consignor that there is a miniscule paper wrinkle that apparently can be seen under magnification that is the cause of this card being downgraded by PSA. We have no doubt that it is there and we would tell you exactly where it is but we just can't find it. If not for this extremely minor flaw (which we cannot see but are not questioning is there), this card would grade a PSA 8. It presents as a strong Nr/Mt-Mt card. This is an extraordinary example of one of Charles Comiskey's most classic cards. The SMR value is $250 in EX 5, $375 in EX-MT 6, $750 in NM 7, and $3,200 in NM-MT 8. We're not sure how the market will value a card like this, but we do strongly believe this card deserves a significant premium to the PSA 5 EX value listed for this card in SMR. Reserve $200. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $1,175.00
