1915 E145 Cracker Jack #103 Joe Jackson

Starting Bid - $1,000.00, Sold For - $7,050.00

Graded G-VG 2.5 by GAI. Exceptionally attractive, bright, and clean example of what many consider to be the most classic of all Joe Jackson cards, and one of the most classic of all vintage baseball cards. This is a tremendous medium-grade card which clearly has a much stronger eye appeal than suggested by its technically accurate assigned grade. The card is bright and clean, both front and back, with deep, bright colors, perfect registration, and wear to the corners. Centered 40/60 left to right. At first we wondered why this card did not receive a higher grade, but the slightest hint of rippling (possibly related to being soaked out of an album, not apparent unless attempting to understand the apparently conservative grade) was obviously taken into account in the grading of the card even though this has no impact on its presentation. We see two small light creases, one in the lower left and one at the top center. Very clean and crisp with no caramel staining. This is an extremely desirable grade for this very interesting classic card, providing a relatively affordable alternative to a far more expensive super high-grade example, yet without compromising on any of the most important qualities of the card. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$3,000.
