1912 T202 Triple Folder "The Athletic Infield" Graham/Brown PSA NM 7
Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $2,232.50
Graded NM 7 by PSA. This is one of only five examples graded at this level with just three graded higher. Remarkably high-grade example of one of the key Hall of Famers from the classic T202 Hassan Triple Folders set: #116 "The Athletic Infield" featuring Hall of Fame pitcher Mordecai “Three Finger” Brown and George Graham on the end panels. Due to their unique design, T202 Triple Folders are one of the most condition-sensitive of all card issues, as well as one of card collecting's most popular and classic sets. The offered example is perfectly clean, both front and back, with the player’s portraits set against striking red backgrounds, four sharp corners, and virtually perfect centering. The striking center-panel image on this card, featuring Mack's famous "Hundred Thousand Dollar Infield" (Baker, Barry, Collins, and McInnis), has always been a favorite among collectors. We have found that at auction cards from extremely popular sets with very low populations in the highest grades often sell for far more than SMR, and this is especially the case with classic vintage sets such as the T202 Triple Folders. SMR value is $850. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $2,232.50
