1911 T205 Gold Border Rarities PSA-Graded Collection (3)

Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $1,057.50

Collection of three high-grade rarities (out of the approximately twenty-four rare cards in the set) from the 1911 T205 Gold Border set, all graded and encapsulated by PSA: 1) Hoblitzell “No Cin. after 1908 stats, name incorrect.” Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA. One of only eight graded at this extraordinary level with just one example graded higher. Bright, crisp, and clean, with brilliant colors, and four sharp corners with just the slightest hint of wear on the very tips (predominately the upper left). Centered to the bottom right, with a slight tilt to the brilliant image. The reverse of the card, which is centered low, is also perfectly bright and clean without even the slightest hint of tobacco staining. 2) Raymond. Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. This card is well centered, with even wear to the corners, and flawless gold borders. It is bright and perfectly clean, both front and back. 3) Turner. Graded EX 5 by PSA. The card displays even wear to the four square corners, striking colors, and a few scattered hints of very light, minor chipping along the gold borders. All three are strong cards with outstanding eye-appeal. This is a very attractive collection of three key rare cards from the highly prized T205 set, considered by many to be the single most beautiful of all the prewar tobacco-card issues. Total 3 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,057.50
