1910-Era Card Collection Including Cobb and Wagner (5)

Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $4,406.25

Collection of five classic prewar cards including T206 Ty Cobb (red background) and E101 Honus Wagner (batting), all dating from the 1910 era, from four different highly regarded issues. We have submitted all five cards to be graded and encapsulated by PSA. 1) 1909-1911 T206: Ty Cobb (red background, PSA VG 3; bright and clean, with brilliant colors, evenly rounded corners, one thin pencil mark, one tiny surface crease almost impossible to see, and centered slightly to the right border). 2) 1909 E101 "Set of 50:" Honus Wagner (batting, PSA VG 3; bright, crisp colors, clean front and back, rounded corners, centered just a hint to the right, with a very slight diamond cut). 3-4) 1915 E145 Cracker Jack (2 cards): #94 Edward Cicotte ("Black Sox," PSA PR-FR 1; Vg card downgraded by PSA due to a tiny tear at the top border) and 160 Benny Kauff (PSA EX 5; crisp and clean, both front and back, four square corners, centered slightly to the left). 5) 1915 M101-4 Herpolsheimer: #56 "Hap" Felsch ("Black Sox," PSA NM-MT 8 [OC], very crisp, with four sharp corners, perfect contrast, centered 80/20 left to right. Flawless reverse features the rare "Herpolsheimer Co." clothing store advertisement). Cicotte, Kauff, and Felsch were all banned from baseball. Total 5 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000+.
