Circa 1910 T225 Khedival Boxing Complete Set (25): #1 PSA Registry!

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $2,937.50

Extraordinary full-color complete set of circa 1910 T225 "Prize Fight Series," which was issued with cigarette brands produced by The Khedival Company. One card was inserted in each pack of cigarettes. Each card has been graded and encapsulated by PSA. This is the number-one set and the only complete set on the PSA Registry! The PSA Registry overall weighted GPA rating is 3.38. All five different Khedival back variations (no stats - no factory, no stats - factory 57, no stats - factory 348, stats - factory 57, and stats - factory 348) are represented plus several Surbrug Co. advertisement backs. The PSA grades are as follows: One EX 5: Stewart. Thirteen VG-EX 4: Cross, Driscoll, Gardner, Hart, Jeanette, Jeffries, Kaufman, Lewis, McFarland, O'Leary, Papke, Sharkey, and J. Sullivan. Nine VG 3: Attell (MK), Barry, Frayne, Goodman, Hyland, Ketchel, Nelson, Rothwell, and M. Sullivan. One GOOD 2: Coulon. One PR-FR 1: Murphy. Compared to vintage baseball cards from the same era, boxing cards are beginning to be widely recognized as offering an outstanding value. This set in particular is one of the highlights of all boxing-card collecting. Even for the most advanced collectors, it is hard not to appreciate the exceptional quality, design, and rarity of this set. If these tobacco cards were baseball cards of the same rarity, each card would be valued in the thousands. The rarity of these cards is no doubt related to the fact that the Khedival Company was a very small and obscure tobacco company. It has been many years since we have offered a complete set of this issue. This is an extremely attractive complete set of one of the premier boxing issues of the era. Total 25 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $2,937.50
