1987 Super Bowl XXII Game Program Original Artwork - Green Bay Packers Dynasty

Original oil on board by artist George Gaadt, specially commissioned for use as an illustration in the official 1987 Super Bowl XXII Program. The dramatic artwork (24.5 x 22.5 inches) captures the eight members of the Green Bay Packers who, at the time, were both members of the Football Hall of Fame and former Super Bowl participants: Vince Lombardi, Ray Nitschke, Forrest Gregg, Willie Davis, Paul Hornung, Jim Taylor, Herb Adderley, and Bart Starr. Signed by the artist in the lower right. George Gaadt (1941- ) is best known today as an illustrator of children's books but he has also been commissioned to produce a number of sports and celebrity artworks. This painting was long ago purchased directly from the NFL Experience charity auction. The offered painting is ideal for display and is a wonderful homage to the Packer's 1960 football dynasty, with a rare and significant provenance. Matted to total dimensions of 32.25 x 30.5 inches. Included with the painting is a matted copy of the printed piece as it appeared in the Super Bowl XXII program (28.5 x 15 inches). Total: 2 pieces (artwork and tear sheet). Reserve $200.
