1954 New York Yankees Team-Signed Ball

Official American League (Harridge) ball signed in blue ink by the following twenty-five members of the 1954 New York Yankees: Berra (sweet spot), Reynolds (sweet spot), Mantle, Branca, Coleman, Robinson, McDonald, Carey, Collins, Bauer, Slaughter, McDougald, Noren, Silvera, Byrd, Skowron, Schallock, Konstanty, Grim, Ford, Lopat, Rizzuto, Sain, Miranda, and Morgan. Signatures range in grade from “6” to “8,” averaging “7.” This ball originates from the personal collection of legendary Yankees scout Paul Krichell (the man who discovered Lou Gehrig) and has been consigned directly from his family. His name, “Kritch,” appears in vintage blue ink on a side panel. (This type of notation was commonly added in the Yankees clubhouse when team balls were lined up for signing for fellow players and members of the Yankees organization). All of the manufacturer’s stampings are clearly legible and the creamy toned ball is in Excellent condition overall. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $400. Estimate $800/$1,200. SOLD FOR $1,410.00
