2000 Harold Baines Chicago White Sox Game-Used Home Jersey
Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $822.50
Chicago White Sox home jersey worn by five-time All-Star outfielder Harold Baines in 2000. Graded A10 by MEARS. This jersey was originally obtained directly from the Chicago White Sox Charities and is accompanied by an LOA from the team attesting to its game-used provenance. The white-knit pinstripe jersey is lettered "Sox" on the left breast and features the number "3" on the right breast and reverse. "Baines" is lettered on the reverse above the number. All letters and numerals have been appliquéd in black on silver tackle twill. A Chicago White Sox team patch appears on the left sleeve. Located on the left front tail are a Majestic label and an adjacent flag tag bearing the size, "48." Situated below the manufacturer's label is a white strip bearing the uniform number, size and year ("3 48 00"). A Major League Baseball patch appears on the rear collar. The jersey is completely original, with no alterations, and displays light wear throughout. Harold Baines began the 2000 season with the Baltimore Orioles and didn't join the White Sox until late in the summer, hence the light wear. Baines debuted with the White Sox in 1980 and for the next twenty years was one of the most productive hitters in baseball. He retired after the 2001 season with a .289 lifetime average, 384 home runs, and 1,628 RBI. Baines only appeared in twenty-four games with the White Sox in 2000, batting .213 with one home run and nine RBI. Graded A10 by MEARS (5 point base grade, plus 5 points for provenance). This is one of only three A10 Harold Baines jerseys listed in the MEARS census. LOA from Dave Bushing & Troy Kinunen/MEARS. Reserve $200. Estimate $400+. SOLD FOR $822.50
