This collection of three New York Yankees jerseys is comprised of two issued to Wade Boggs and one issued to Bernie Williams. 1) 1994 Wade Boggs New York Yankees home jersey. The white knit pinstripe jersey features the team's "NY" insignia on the left breast and the number "12" on the reverse. All letters and numerals are appliquéd in navy tackle twill. A Major League Baseball 125th Anniversary patch appears on the right sleeve. Situated on the left front tail are a "Russell Athletic 46" label, an adjacent white strip tag that is lettered "Boggs - 94," and a "2 inch Extra Length" tag. The jersey is completely original, with no alterations, and displays minimal wear. Graded A5 by MEARS (post-1987 jerseys receive a base grade of 5, with additional points added only as a result of further provenance). 2) 1996 Wade Boggs New York Yankees road jersey. The gray knit jersey is lettered "New York" across the front and features the number "12" on the reverse. All letters and numerals are appliquéd in navy on white tackle twill. A black armband, in memory of longtime Yankees announcer Mel Allen, who died that spring, appears on the left sleeve. Situated on the left front tail are a "Russell Athletic 46" label, an adjacent white strip tag that is lettered "Boggs - 96," and a "2 inch Extra Length" tag. The jersey is completely original, with no alterations, and displays light wear. Graded A5 by MEARS. 3) 1989/90 Bernie Williams New York Yankees Spring Training Road Jersey. The gray knit jersey is lettered "New York" across the front and features the number "63" on the reverse. All letters and numerals are appliquéd in navy on white tackle twill. Stitched in navy, upon a gray strip tag located in the collar, is the name "Williams," followed by the year ("89") and set number ("2"). Situated on the left front tail are a "Wilson" label and an adjacent "42" size tag. Bernie Williams did not officially join the Yankees until 1991, at which time he wore number "51." However, he wore number "63" during spring training in both 1989 and 1990. The jersey has had the number "1" removed from the left sleeve (placed there in 1990 in memory of Billy Martin, who passed away on December 25, 1989) and is otherwise completely original, displaying light wear throughout. Graded A4 by MEARS (base grade of 5, minus 1 point for the removal of the sleeve number). From the Barry Halper Collection. LOA from Dave Bushing & Troy Kinunen/MEARS. Total: 3 jerseys. Reserve $500. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $3,231.25
