Billy Martin Signed Display Collection (3)

Collection of three Billy Martin signed items, each personalized to his good friend Barry Halper. 1) Die-cut cardboard counter display inscribed in blue Sharpie (“10”), “To Barry – the best - your pal – Bill Martin.” The easel-back counter display, which was designed to dispense Yankee season schedules, pictures Martin in uniform and reads “Billy’s Back” on the front. Obviously, the piece dates from one of Martin’s five managerial stints with the Yankees between the years 1975 and 1988. The display measures 6.5 x 9.75 x 5 inches (with the easel extended) and is in Excellent condition. 2) Large-format color photo, produced on board, inscribed in blue marker (“9”), To Barry – Best of Luck – Billy Martin.” The photo pictures Martin in extreme close-up and measures 13 x 19.5 inches. The photo displays moderate surface wear throughout, including a few scratches and abrasions, and minor foxing at the bottom, but displays very well. In Very Good condition. 3) Circular cardboard advertising display for Yankee Franks inscribed in faded black marker (“6”), “To Barry – Your friend always – Billy Martin Yankees.” The store display, which was designed to hang by a string, features the same image on the front and reverse and reads “Yankee Franks – The taste that takes you out to the ballgame.” The advertising display measures 10 inches in diameter and has a small tear along the prepunched hole at the top.
