Circa 1962 Mickey Mantle "Traffic Safety Awareness" Broadside

Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $940.00

Circa 1962 Mickey Mantle public service broadside issued by the Traffic Department-Safety Education Program. Obviously aimed at school-age youngsters, this colorful broadside enlists the aid of Yankees slugger Mickey Mantle to help get the word out about traffic safety. Mantle, who is pictured in full uniform, warning kids to “Play It Safe – Cross at Corners – Not Mid Block.” The broadside (17 x 19 inches) displays a few small staple holes from use which do not detract in the least from its stunning Excellent to Mint appearance. This is a beautiful and very wholesome display piece featuring Mickey Mantle. It is also extremely rare. We have never seen another example. Matted and framed to total dimensions of 27 x 30 inches. From the Barry Halper Collection. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $940.00
