1870-1929 Baseball Team Photo Display Collection (16)

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $1,740.00

The spirit of baseball's rich amateur history is impressively conveyed within this collection of sixteen original team display photographs spanning the years circa 1870 through 1929. Photographs of this extraordinary quality were usually produced at great expense as keepsakes and for special presentation. This is an extremely impressive group, which is not surprising considering this collection has been very carefully selected from a vast photo collection numbering in the hundreds, assembled over a period of decades. These sixteen team photos represent the very finest in terms of quality and visual appeal. Though the teams and players pictured here have long been forgotten, their images stand as silent testimony to baseball's grand heritage within the framework of American history.
