Offered here are a matched pair of 1954 World Series black bats. One was issued for the World Champion New York Giants, and the other for their opponents that year, the Cleveland Indians, winners of a then American League record 111 games. The presentation of black bats to players, friends of the club, and dignitaries as a keepsake of Championship seasons is a tradition that began in the mid 1930s, and continues to this day. Black bats were produced in limited numbers, thus accounting for their scarcity today. Each bat has light wear and is in Excellent condition overall. Length: each 35 inches.
