1918 to 1933 Baseball Magazine Collection (65)

Starting Bid - $400.00, Sold For - $4,060.00

For over fifty years, Baseball Magazine was the voice of the National Pastime, documenting every nuance of the game and its history in word and photographs. Today, Baseball Magazine is no longer published, but old issues open a window to baseball history that is perhaps unrivaled; and collectors appreciate past issues both for research as well as for the tremendous display value of their classic covers. This very substantial Baseball Magazine collection includes sixty-five issues (all different) spanning the years 1918 to 1933, with all but two issues dating from 1918 to 1925. This is a high-quality collection with many extremely impressive early covers ideal for display. Half of the magazines range in grade from Vg to Vg-Ex/Ex and half are in overall Good to Vg condition. Many feature the game's greatest stars on their covers. We have listed a few particularly significant covers, but the collection includes many, many stars on covers not listed as well. 1918: One issue, Dec. w/Marquard. 1919: Twelve issues, including Jan. w/Cobb, Mar. w/Evers, May w/McGraw. 1920: Eight issues, including Apr. w/Ruth, Jun. w/Cobb, Dec. w/Speaker. 1921: Seven issues, including Feb. w/Landis, Oct. w/Ruth. 1922: Nine issues, including Mar. w/Heilmann, Dec. w/Huggins and McGraw. 1923: Eight issues, including Dec. w/Ruth and Ruppert. 1924: Twelve issues, including Jan. w/Sisler, Feb. w/Roush, Mar. w/Collins, Dec. w/McGraw and Harris. 1925: Six issues, including Jan. w/Vance, Mar. w/Hornsby. 1930: One issue, Mar. w/Grove. 1933: One issue, Sept. w/Walter Johnson.
