Hall of Fame Single-Signed "Spinneybeck" Baseballs Collection (51)
Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $2,610.00
Extraordinary and extremely unusual collection of Hall of Fame signed baseballs. Presented are fifty-one colored baseballs produced by Spinneybeck, the world's leading and largest supplier of quality upholstery leather. Approximately twenty years ago the company began producing these novel balls as promotional pieces, and the response was so great that the balls are now almost as famous as the company itself. Eighteen varying shades of colored balls are represented here, with each of forty-eight baseballs bearing the signature (in either black, silver or gold marker) of a single Hall of Famer across the sweet spot. A few of the players have also included the date of their Hall of Fame induction either below their name or on an adjacent panel. The Hall of Fame signatures featured in this collection are Anderson, Aparicio (signed on the ball label as well), Berra, Boudreau, Brock, Carew, Carlton, Cepeda, Doby, Doerr, Feller, Fisk, Ford, Gibson, Irvin, Jenkins, Kaline, Kell, Killebrew, Kiner, Lopez, Marichal, Mazeroski, McCovey, Murray, Musial, Niekro, Palmer, Perez, Perry, Reese, Rizzuto, Roberts, F. Robinson, Ryan, Sandberg, Schmidt, Schoendienst, Seaver, Slaughter, Smith, Snider, Spahn, Stargell, Sutton, Weaver, Wilhelm, and B. Williams. Also included in the collection are three single-signed balls penned, respectively, by potential Hall of Famers Buck O'Neill, Roger Clemens, and Goose Gossage. All of the signatures are boldly scripted, averaging "9/10," and the balls are in overall Near Mint condition. Ideal for display. LOAs from James Spence/JSA and Steve Grad, Mike Gutierrez & Zach Rullo/PSA DNA. Total: 51 balls (48 Hall of Famers). Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $2,610.00
