1956 New York Yankees Signed Program Including Mantle and Stengel
Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $1,044.00
Presented is vintage autographed keepsake signed by seven members of the 1956 New York Yankees: Mickey Mantle, Casey Stengel, Bill Dickey, Yogi Berra, Billy Martin, Moose Skowron, and Jerry Coleman. The two-page foldover program has also been signed by longtime Yankees radio announcer Mel Allen. All of the signatures have been scripted in blue ink and grade "9/10." This very unusual booklet, which is of exceptionally high production quality and titled "My Autographs" on the cover, was produced specifically for the collection of autographs and distributed as a souvenir to guests attending the New York Yankees "Welcome Home Dinner" held at the Concourse Plaza Hotel on April 20, 1956. Both the front and back covers feature advertising for Bankers Trust, the sponsor of the event. All of the signatures appear on the two interior pages, as does the preprinted date and location of the event. The foldover booklet (12.25 x 9 inches, unfolded) displays very little wear and has been well cared for as a valued keepsake, as intended. This was no doubt a very highly prized possession of the youngster who received these signatures in person at this special event. Excellent condition overall. This is a very interesting and rare New York Yankees signed piece (we have never seen another) from a special one-day event and dating from Mantle's Triple Crown season. LOAs from James Spence/JSA and Steve Grad, Mike Gutierrez & Zach Rullo/PSA DNA. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$600. SOLD FOR $1,044.00
