1951 Joe Jackson Autograph Signed By Wife
Starting Bid - $100.00, Sold For - $406.00
Part of the legend of Joe Jackson is that he was illiterate and could not even sign his name. In fact, Jackson could sign, but he was very reluctant to do so, and rarely signed except when absolutely necessary, usually on legal documents. This did not stop autograph seekers from requesting Jackson's signature by mail, and when these occasional requests came in they were honored by Mrs. Jackson, who would sign Joe's name for him. Offered is an original "Joe Jackson" signature by Mrs. Jackson, in response to an autograph request. The small sheet of memo-pad paper (4.75 x 3.5 inches), approximately the size of a traditional postcard, is signed "Joe Jackson, 8-30-51" ("9"). The sheet is in Excellent condition. While not actually signed by Joe Jackson, this is a very interesting item relating to his legend, and, given the great rarity of his signature, it represents a very economical alternative to, or complement to, an authentic Joe Jackson signature. LOAs from James Spence/JSA and Steve Grad, Mike Gutierrez & Zach Rullo/PSA DNA. Reserve $100. Estimate $200/$300. SOLD FOR $406.00
