1920 Roger Bresnahan Signed Official Yankees Transfer Document
Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $1,044.00
One-page official "Uniform Agreement for Transfer of a Player to or by a Major League Club" is signed in black fountain pen by Hall of Famer "Roger P. Bresnahan" ("9"), in his capacity as president of the Toledo Baseball Club, and also by "Jacob Ruppert" ("8") as president of the New York Americans. This official fully executed document, dated September 18, 1920, memorializes the transfer of player Hamilton Hyatt from the Yankees to Toledo "for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty-five Hundred Dollars." The notation "Bresnahan & Ruppert" is written along the top of the document in pencil. Signatures of early Hall of Famer Roger Bresnahan (1879-1944) are very rare. Fortunately, he served as a baseball executive with Toledo, and occasionally official documents signed by him in this capacity surface. The document has normal folds lines and a few small edge tears. Very Good to Excellent condition. Dimensions: 8.5 x 3.5 inches folded, 8.5 x 14 inches unfolded. LOAs from James Spence/JSA and Steve Grad, Mike Gutierrez & Zach Rullo/PSA DNA. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$800. SOLD FOR $1,044.00
