1954 Topps Complete Set (250)

Starting Bid - $1,000.00, Sold For - $8,700.00

80% range from Ex to Ex-Mt or better (includes some Nr/Mt and even a few Nr/Mt-Mt cards), 18% Vg-Ex to Vg-Ex/Ex, 2% Gd to Vg. We have selected fourteen cards to be graded by PSA. Keys: #1 Williams (PSA VG-EX 4), 10 Robinson (PSA NM 7), 13 Martin (Vg-Ex), 17 Rizzuto (Ex), 20 Spahn (PSA EX-MT 6), 30 Mathews (PSA NM 7), 32 Snider (PSA NM-MT 8), 36 Wilhelm (Ex), 37 Ford (PSA EX 5), 45 Ashburn (tiny tear on the right border, otherwise Ex), 50 Berra (PSA EX 5), 90 Mays (PSA EX 5), 94 Banks (RC, PSA GOOD 2 [MC]), 128 Aaron (RC, PSA VG-EX 4), 132 Lasorda (RC, PSA EX-MT 6), 201 Kaline (RC, PSA EX 5), 239 Skowron (PSA NM-MT 8), and 250 Williams (PSA EX-MT 6). This is a very respectable and extremely consistent complete set of this early 1950s classic, with tremendous eye appeal throughout. Technically the set falls into the "very strong medium" grade category, but has an overall presentation of a technically much more expensive and higher-grade set. It would be hard to imagine a true collector looking at this set and thinking anything but "Wow!" Early sets in this rare grade are especially desirable, representing the most solid and least volatile value in the world of vintage cards. The SMR value for just the PSA NM-MT 8s, NM 7s, EX-MT 6s, and EX 5s of this lot (a total of just nine cards, not including the PSA VG-EX 4s or GOOD 2) is $2,765. This is a gorgeous set assembled one card at a time by a very dedicated condition-conscious collector in the 1980s. Total 250 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$4,000. SOLD FOR $8,700.00
